Beautiful site with integration of Live Local

Magnificent site and a great collaboration between 2 brands (MSN and Westin hotels).

In the site Renewal you can explore several big cities (super integration of Live Local) and find the Westin hotels on the map next to several points of interest. A really nice way to explore a city, its tourist attractions and find hotels near them.

Soapbox and Messenger Integration

This is really cool. Link to Soapbox on MSN Video: Soapbox and Messenger Integration

Instead of just IM'ing your contact a link to a video,we now allow you to actually watch a video with friends, using Windows Live Messenger in real-time. This is how it works:If at any time you would like to watch a video with one of your Messenger contacts, just click on the "share" tab under a Soapbox Video and select "IM this video."

If you are already signed into Messenger, this will prompt you to choose which contact you would like to watch the video with.If you are not signed in, you will be prompted to do so.Choose the contact, and once the person has accepted your invitation - boom the Messenger Activity Window will launch, with the player in full view. You can now watch the video with your friends and chat about it, all at the same time. We will be adding more functionality in the future, but think this is a great start in integrating Soapbox closely with Messenger.

Proximus “mobilises” Windows Live Messenger

Proximus and Microsoft today announce that the world's leading instant messaging service, Windows Live Messenger (formerly known as MSN Messenger) will be available on mobile phones in Belgium starting mid November.

Proximus will be the first mobile operator in Belgium to offer customers the ability to instant message using Windows Live Messenger on their mobile phones, as they would on their personal computers. Through this new service, customers will have a similar look and feel as Windows Live Messenger with an adapted user experience for the mobile. Customers will be able to see if their contacts are online and exchange messages between Windows Live Messenger on a PC and mobile phone and vice versa.

This agreement with Microsoft is the latest enhancement to Proximus’s wireless messaging offerings in Belgium, and will be proposed under the Proximus Instant Messaging umbrella. By expanding availability of these services for mobile use, this agreement has the opportunity to help promote more frequent interaction between PC and mobile customers.

It will only take Proximus customers with a compatible device a few minutes to download the Proximus Instant Messaging application and save it into their handset. All they will have to do is send “IM” via SMS to 2468 and they will receive the application for free on their mobile. To use the service, customers will simply need to launch the Proximus IM application from the menu on their mobile phones and sign in with their Windows Live Messenger user account.

As a special launch promotion, Proximus customers will be able to enjoy the Windows Live Messenger Mobile service free until 31 December 2006. This special offer will include unlimited usage and traffic in Belgium. After this promo period, the service would be charged at EUR 5,99 for a monthly recurring subscription and EUR 6,99 for a one month purchase. National traffic will be included in the price and won’t be charged separately to customers. This service is not available abroad.

Details on Windows Live Messenger on Proximus and list of compatible handsets will be available at www.proximus.be as from mid November.

Windows Live Barcode

And another Live service sees the light. This time it is: Windows Live Barcode. It is a new way to avoid repetitive input, store more information and enjoy better handset service within seconds. On the other hand it's also an opportunity for advertisers. Just have a look at this campaign in Mexico: Promo Sprite . It's extremely simple. You take a photo of the barcode and your phone translates it automatically: wheter it's a promotional code, some text or your business card. On Windows Live Barcode you can easily try it yourself. I've tried it and on the right you can see my businesscard converted in a barcode. Pretty nice, no?

Excellent demo of Soapbox on 10. If you are wondering what Soapbox is, it's Microsofts answer to Youtube (or Google if you want).
